What is a Bookmarklet?

A bookmarklet is a small piece of JavaScript code stored as a bookmark. When clicked, it runs on the current page to add new functionality. Our bookmarklet adds a hint widget directly to the Wordle page.

How to Use

Navigate to Wordle

Go to the New York Times Wordle page and start playing

Open your bookmarks and tap the 'Wordle Hint' bookmark

Tap the X button to close the widget when you're done

Troubleshooting

Bookmarklet doesn't work

Make sure you're on the NY Times Wordle page and that JavaScript is enabled in your browser

Can't copy on mobile

Try long-pressing the copy button, or manually select and copy the code text

Widget appears but no hints

Make sure you have at least one guess entered in the game before requesting hints

Widget looks broken

Try refreshing the page and running the bookmarklet again
