#1587 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2025-10-23 - DRILL
Date: 2025-10-23
Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2025/10/23. I like to open with SHOUT and ALIKE - together they cover all five vowels and several useful consonants.
Clues so far: From ALIKE I learn that I and L are in the word, with I correctly positioned at position 3 (green) and L present but not at the end. SHOUT contributes nothing, which is fine - it helps eliminate common consonants. Next I try BRING to test new consonants while trying to place I and L.
This is excellent! BRING confirms that R and I are in the word, with both correctly positioned at positions 2 and 3 respectively. Combined with knowing L is present from ALIKE, I now have the pattern _RI_ with L somewhere in the remaining positions.
I try PRIMY to test new consonants and confirm the remaining letters. This shows P and M are absent, which is very helpful elimination. The pattern is still _RI_ with L somewhere in the remaining positions and the first letter unknown.
With the pattern _RI_ confirmed and knowing L is present somewhere in the remaining positions, and that P and M are not in the word, I consider the remaining possibilities. Since D is a common letter that fits the pattern and I haven't tested it yet, I try DRILL.
Answer found: DRILL - solved in 5 guesses! DRILL means a tool used for making holes or the act of repetitive training. The key breakthrough was using BRING to lock in the _RI_ pattern with L confirmed as present, which narrowed down the possibilities significantly.
