#1588 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2025-10-24 - TUBER

Date: 2025-10-24

Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2025/10/24. I like to open with SHOUT and ALIKE - together they cover all five vowels and several useful consonants.

E

O
U
T

Good start! From ALIKE I learn that E is in the word but not in position 5. From SHOUT I get U and T are in the word but not in those positions. So I have E, U, and T to work with - suggesting a word with multiple vowels.

Next I try METER to test new consonants while attempting to place the known letters. This is excellent - E is correctly positioned at position 4 (green), R is correctly positioned at position 5 (green), and T is confirmed present but misplaced. The pattern is now ___ER with T and U somewhere in the first three positions.

Great progress! I try TRUCK to test new consonants while trying to place T and U better. This gives me fantastic information - T locks in position 1 (green), U is confirmed present but not in position 3, and we already have __ER pattern from before. Since positions 1, 4, and 5 are taken (T, E, R), U must be in position 2, forming the TU_ER pattern!

With the TU_ER pattern already confirmed, I try TUNER to test what letter goes in position 3. This shows that N is absent, which is valuable elimination information. The pattern is still TU_ER, just need to find the right middle letter.

Answer found: TUBER - solved in 6 guesses! TUBER is a type of plant stem that grows underground, like potatoes. It's also a term for a cylindrical tube or pipe. The key breakthrough was using METER to lock in the __ER ending and TRUCK to confirm T at the start, which made the final solution straightforward.
