#1612 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2025-11-17 - CLAMP

Date: 2025-11-17

Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2025/11/17. I like to open with ALIKE to quickly identify key letters and vowels.

A
L
I
K
E

Excellent start! From ALIKE I immediately get fantastic information - L is correctly positioned at position 2 (green)! I also learn that A is present (yellow), while I, K, and E are all absent from the word. This gives me a great foundation to work with.

A
L
I
K
E
S
H
O
U
T

Next I try SHOUT to test more consonants and vowels. This eliminates S, H, O, U, and T completely, which is very helpful information. Combined with the first guess, I now know the word starts with L as the second letter, contains A somewhere, and doesn't include many common letters.

A
L
I
K
E
S
H
O
U
T
B
L
A
N
D

Great progress! I try BLAND to test B and position the known letters better. This is perfect - A locks in position 3 (green) and L stays confirmed at position 2 (green)! I also learn that B, N, and D are absent. Now I have the pattern _LA__.

A
L
I
K
E
S
H
O
U
T
B
L
A
N
D
C
L
A
M
P

Answer found: CLAMP - solved in 4 guesses! CLAMP means to fasten or secure something tightly, often using a clamp device. The key breakthrough was using BLAND to establish the _LA__ pattern, which made the final solution straightforward by eliminating so many consonant possibilities.
