#1657 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2026-01-01 - FABLE
Date: 2026-01-01
Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2026/01/01. I started with my usual opener ALIKE.
From ALIKE I learned that A and L are both present in the word, but not in positions 1 and 2 respectively. Best of all, E was confirmed correct in position 5! I and K were both absent. Since ALIKE already revealed two vowels (A and E), I didn't need my usual second opener SHOUT.
Second guess SHALE was strategic to test the position of A and L. It revealed that S and H are both absent, and A is present but not in position 3. Most importantly, L and E were confirmed correct in positions 4 and 5 respectively! Now I had the pattern ___LE.
Third guess MANDY was a smart choice to test if A belongs in position 2. It confirmed that A is indeed correct in position 2! M, N, D, and Y were all absent. Now I had the pattern _A_LE with three letters locked in position!
Fourth guess TABLE was very close! It confirmed that B is correct in position 3, while T was absent. Now I had _A_LE fully locked, which meant the answer could be CABLE, FABLE, or GABLE!
Fifth guess CLANG was a clever attempt to test multiple candidates. It revealed that C and G are both absent. L and A are present but not in positions 2 and 3, while N is present but not in position 4. This helped narrow down the possibilities!
Answer found in 6 guesses! FABLE refers to a short fictional story, typically with animals as characters, that conveys a moral lesson - like Aesop's fables! The key was using MANDY and TABLE to lock in A and B in their correct positions, giving me the _ABLE framework to work with!
