#1661 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2026-01-05 - FILLY
Date: 2026-01-05
Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2026/01/05. I started with my usual opener ALIKE and SHOUT.
From ALIKE I learned that L and I are present but not in positions 2 and 3 respectively! A, K, and E were all absent. Second guess SHOUT was a total bust - S, H, O, U, and T were all absent!
Third guess WINDY was a breakthrough! It confirmed that I is correct in position 2 and Y is correct in position 5! W, N, and D were all absent. The pattern was now _I__Y with L present somewhere!
Fourth guess MILLY was excellent! It confirmed I, L, L, Y in positions 2, 3, 4, 5! Only the first letter was missing. The pattern was now _ILLY! The answer can be BILLY, FILLY, GILLY...
Fifth guess BRING tested B, R, N, G as potential first letters - all absent, which eliminated the answers BILLY, GILLY, etc. Then I tried FILLY.
Answer found in 6 guesses! FILLY means a young female horse, especially one that is less than four years old! The key insight was using MILLY to lock in the _ILLY pattern, then realizing F must be the first letter since it was the only common letter that fit!
