#1662 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2026-01-06 - OOMPH

Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2026/01/06. I started with my usual opener ALIKE and SHOUT.

From ALIKE I learned that absolutely nothing was correct! A, L, I, K, and E were all absent. Second guess SHOUT was much better - H and O are present but not in positions 1 and 3 respectively! S, U, and T were all absent.

Third guess HORNY was a breakthrough! It confirmed that O is correct in position 2 and H is present but not in position 1! R, N, and Y were all absent.

Fourth guess PONGO revealed more! It confirmed O in position 2 and showed another O is present, but not in position 5! P is present but not in position 1. G and N were absent.

Fifth guess MOOCH was excellent! It confirmed M is present and H is correct in position 5! C was absent. Now I had all the letters - M, O, O, P, H - and just needed to arrange them correctly.

Answer found in 6 guesses! OOMPH means energy, enthusiasm, or vigor - often used to describe something with punchy impact like 'that song really has oomph'! The key insight was using MOOCH to identify the double O pattern in positions 2 and 3, then knowing H must be at the end!
