#1693 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2026-02-06 - GAVEL
Date: 2026-02-06
Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2026/02/06. I started with my usual opener ALIKE.
Good start! From ALIKE I learned that A, L and E are present. Since two vowels are present, I didn't test my another opener SHOUT this time.
Second guess LAMER revealed that A and E are correct in positions 2 and 4. L is present but not in position 1.
Third guess PALET revealed that L is not in position 3. Since L is not in position 1 or 3, it must be in position 5. Now I had the pattern _A_EL.
Fourth guess FIGHT revealed that G is present but not in position 3. So G must be in position 1. Now I had the pattern GA_EL.
Answer found in 5 guesses! GAVEL means a small hammer used by a judge to maintain order in court - like 'the judge banged the gavel on the desk'! The key insight was using ALIKE, LAMER, PALET, and FIGHT to systematically identify G, A, V, E, L and their correct positions through elimination!
