#1703 Wordle Answer and Hints for 2026-02-16 - ROOST

Hi! I'm a Wordle fan from China. Here's my Wordle strategy for 2026/02/16. I started with my usual opener ALIKE and SHOUT.

ALIKE eliminated all letters - none of A, L, I, K, E were in the answer. From SHOUT I learned that O and T are correct in positions 3 and 5. S is present but not in position 1.

Third guess BOOST was a breakthrough! O, O, S, T are all correct in positions 2, 3, 4, and 5! Only first letter to figure out!

Answer found in 4 guesses! ROOST means to rest on a perch or branch - like 'the birds roosted in the trees'! The key insight was testing the _OOST pattern to quickly identify O, O, S, T and their correct positions!
